Industry Overview
The Ambulance Service has always had a high level of demands placed on it - responding to an increasing number of 999 calls with often limited increase of funding.
Clinical Response 'A' calls meeting 8 minutes Requirement: 75% should be met within 8 minutes. Reason: Clinical evidence shows that achievement of this requirement could save as many as 1,800 lives per annum in people under 75 years suffering acute heart attacks. Lord Warner, the Health Minister in 2005 said: "The Ambulance Service has made excellent progress over the last ten years. The people most at risk are being reached quicker and more lives are being saved. We must now build on that success and will measure the response time for the life-threatening conditions from the time the call is answered."

Products
Clients we have helped
ACTIVE products are used by 80% of the Ambulance Services in the UK, and we are engaged to develop deployment plans covering the whole of the Republic of Ireland.
Staffordshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust were our first Ambulance Service client and went on to become the best performing Ambulance Service in the country, building a dynamic service using methodologies used in high performance Ambulance Services in the USA. Staffordshire's performance was, and still is, predicated on the risk and demand modelling undertaken with ACTIVE's tools. The recently retired Chief Executive, Mr Roger Thayne, OBE is on record as saying “The accuracy and robustness of ACTIVE's system has made a significant contribution to the increasing survival rates from cardiac arrest seen in Staffordshire in recent years”.
For our international credentials we have recently been engaged in the Republic of Ireland (by PHECC and the HSE) in a national project to review the operational performance of the existing regional Ambulance Services and to make recommendations on the formation of an integrated high performance Ambulance Service for Ireland.
Marion County Emergency Medical Services in Florida also use ACTIVE to better understand the citizens they serve and the patterns of demand, and plan the effective use of resources for maximum responsiveness and best patient outcomes.
