ACTIVE Travel Time Boundaries ("TTB")
Product Overview
Incorporate travel times in your decision making, filly integrated with ACTIVE TSM, Travel Time Boundaries will enable you to model and understand the impact the time to travel to locations has with logistics and recruitment planning.
Travel Time Boundaries are irregular polygons that describe the distances that can be travelled over the road network in a given time, from a given location. They are based on a complete road network and have due regard to congestion, effects of blue lights, road closures and the like.
Example usage
Product Benefits
The system works with vector road network data and is used to calculate response travel time capabilities. It will generate a boundary that reports the distance that can be travelled from any given point (Station, standby point or any other location identified by the user) along the road network within any specified time period. This boundary can then be viewed against the road network, or against any contextual backcloth e.g. a risk map of the operational area identifying those areas that can be reached within a set deployment standard, and crucially those that cannot be reached within that time.
Key Features
The system and road network is fully user configurable, users can apply rules to simulate differing road conditions, periods of congestion, specific circumstances, such as increased heavy goods vehicle traffic resulting from the Tunnel works on route to Fire Brigade HQ and the impact upon blue light speeds in that area.
ACTIVE Travel Time Boundaries helps you:
ACTIVE's innovative, user friendly, travel time information system, ACTIVE Travel Time Boundaries, calculates the distances that can be travelled over the road network in a given time from given locations, having due regard to congestion, changes in the available road network and the effects of blues and twos, reported as a series of boundaries (called isochrones) laid on to digital maps. ACTIVE Travel Time Boundaries can help you and your organisation manage and plan for the future.
ACTIVE Travel Time Boundaries has been developed in conjunction with partners in the public and private sector to enable accurate and innovative studies of the travel potential of people from and to each other, especially in emergency services. This easy to use system generates highly detailed and accurate travel time boundaries and draws these on to digital maps where relationships between travel time, service demand, organisational activity and demographics can be analysed and modelled. ACTIVE Travel Time Boundaries will make an impact on this project and help you manage and plan for the future.
ACTIVE Travel Time Boundaries is built on a complete digital road network, enabling visualisation, manipulation and interpretation of travel times and travel distance between locations across your operational area.
For example, compare 15 minute and 30 minute travel time isochrones around different locations such as hospitals, GP premises, ambulance or fire stations, retail outlets, distribution centres, etc. ACTIVE Travel Time Boundaries can calculate and display four different journey time zones for up to 100 locations, in a single operation, quickly.
If you are interested in finding the quickest route between locations within an isochrone, then ACTIVE Travel Time Boundaries "Trackback" facility is the answer. Simply select a point on a road and the software automatically tracks back to your selected base location to find the quickest route.
You may want isochrones that take account of road conditions and journey speeds at different times of the day or night. ACTIVE Travel Time Boundaries; in-built journey time modeller has speed settings applied to several road types which can be varied on any individual stretch of road to account for traffic snarl-ups, accidents, road works etc, either on a general time basis, or for any given hour of the week. You can travel much further in a given time in town at 4:00am than you can at 08:00am.
Connectivity
Isochrones generated by ACTIVE Travel Time Boundaries can be seamlessly incorporated within ACTIVE's suite of geographical and census information systems. When combined with census data, pubic service activity data sets, and lifestyle data, powerful comparisons and analysis can be performed simply, yet effectively, in a way not possible with traditional reporting and presentation techniques
Securing your investment
In using ACTIVE Travel Time Boundaries, you will have the best journey time planning and analysis solution for your organisation. Outstanding return on investment and benefit to patient care are guaranteed by further enhancement of your existing ACTIVE solution.
